What ! you mean that AVID isn’t the #1 editing company ? I thought that ALL professionals only use AVID, and that everyone else is an amateur. How could this be happening ?

By the way, is anyone interested in buying a used CMX editing system here ?

    Mr. Zelin:

Your mockery has been noted. Please report immediately to Teleport Tewksbury for consolidating and decomposing. Your media shall be orphaned with no chance for relink.

    Sincerely from the Avid Empire….

    Mr. McIntyre,

all the employees at the Teleport Tewksbury have abandoned ship. This means not only Mr. Krall, but EVERY VP that you can think of from the past, that has been important. Real men, like Steve Bayes, are now at Apple.

So please tell me, Mr. McIntyre – exactly WHO should I report to at AVID ?

    freakin Nancy, man.
I seriously have high hopes for Avid now for the first time in years.
Like a change in our current administrantion… ANY change is welcomed. It aint like it’s gonna get worse, she may have great ideas and most likely, she’ll stop the false advertising and corner-cutting that is tankin’ the company.
shoot, I havn’t even seen anything yet but I say Nancy for president.
and good riddence to what I hope is the last pocket-padder in the pack.

    Grinner,

I hate to burst your bubble, however Nancy is a money person. A former CFO of a communication company isn’t exactly the type of person who is going to get behind what we need and want. Besides, she is “temporary” while they look for someone else.

David Krall on the other hand had an engineering degree and came from Digidesign. That didn’t work so well either.

    Hey, Bob:

Just tryin’ to bring some levity to the heavy news as it were. To be honest, I’ve never fully understood the FCP <-> Avid one-upmanship. That’s a whole other thread / book altogether. Both apps pay my bills (Avid a little more).

For whatever it’s worth, here’s to Nancy and whoever’s left! Don’t forget to turn the lights out…

no bubble burstin, man. My head isn’t in the clouds, I just know this Avid’s last chance to hang in there. Again, there is nothing to lose here. She knows this more than any of us do and I imagine she’s had a plan of execution for quite some time now. It’s not as if the company could really keep that dude… heck the consumer has seen this for a long time. Internally, I have to imagine things have been falling into place for a while.
man, I hope so. The next 6 months will be the tell-tell.
I’m rootin for ya, nancy! Lookin forward to positive changes in what use to be the best NLE company on the planet.

I guess I don’t come here enough, but, what are the issues you have with Avid?

I could give you mine but I would guess they might be a little out of tune.

    Give me the short list…

    Thanks

    Chris
