    Hi all,

I downloaded a trial of the Boris Avid->AE tool with the intention of trying to work it into my schools’ workflow. I took a student’s Avid Project (5.5.2, but also attempted with 5.0.X) and went through the tutorial that comes with the trial s/n. I imported into AE 5.0 and just about every other clip threw an error. In the log these are coming up as “Error: Unknown Mob red (type: COMP, usage: Subclip)”.

We use Canon 7D’s and dual system recording, syncing in Avid via subclips. I wouldn’t be surprised if subclips are causing the problem, but unfortunately, they are a big part of our program.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if you need any more information.

    Scott,

With something like this you need to contact our tech support, send a sample of your clip and AAF project. 888-77-BORIS

Out of curiosity, do these clips load and playback in AE on their own? You mention “every other clip” which implies there may be a difference in clip formats.
