AVid 3.0 not importing GoPro Hero Mpeg4 audio
Hey Guys, I have just run some tests with the GoPro POV camera, and the video comes in fine(into MC 3.0) it even says its processing the QT audio on import, but when I check the files in AVID…no audio! I checked the MXF MedaiFiles folder, and there are audio files there, and I can here it in the QT player..but it doesn’t want to playback in AVID. The bin settings show that it imports it, but when I check it on the timeline(with Audio Sample plot on ) it’s vacant, no audio.
Any suggestions??

Avid will import the audio and give you a track with media and all, but if it doesn’t like the codec it simply will not play it… My suggestion, being that I’m pretty sure avid does not handle mpeg4 audio is to take the file and export the audio as an aiff or wav through wither quicktime pro, or compressor or sorenson.
