AVI (Xvid) in Sony Vegas 7.0
I’m desesperate to find a solution. When I try to put an AVI file (Xvid) into Sony Vegas 7, all I get in the timeline is the video part without the audio. Most of the videos are from downloaded tv shows. Those are playing fine in Window Media Player and DivX player. I’ve looked a lot of sites to find the problem and find a solution and it’s still doesn’t work.
Here’s what I tried without conclusion:
VirtualDub; when trying to convert a video, an error message appear : Couldn’t locate compressor for format XVID (unknow. VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs such as those used by Window Media Player, are not suitable.
Four CC Code: I tried avic, changing the Xvid code. Worked fine until I clicked ‘play’. The video is reversed, doubled and has those weird colors and really bad quality.
GSpot: It says I have all the codecs needed to play the video.
I would really appreciate an answer, because I’ve been searching and trying for 2 days now. Also, I’m not a computer genius (more like basic). If you do have a solution, explain it lol.
