AVI to FCP
I have few video shot by still digital camera. These video files are in .avi format. How can I Import AVI to Final Cut Pro 5.
I am new to editing so please be careful with being too techy

Convert them to a proper editing format first.
ProRes is a good choice.
There are no “technical solutions” to your “artistic problems”.

If you have VLC video player, this bit of software will also convert to a variety of formats, not sure it’ll do pro res but it will convert to .mov which you’ll then be able to take into FCP.
VLC is free and if you google it you’ll be able to download the latest version and then if you go to youtube and put in video converting with vlc, you’ll come across a video tutorial which will help you do this.
