  • AVI rendering issues, settling with WMV? Please help!

    Hi Everyone,

First of all, I’m new here, but took the time to join because I saw just how much interaction with fellow studio graphics and video producers there was here. Great site!

    PROBLEM:

I’m just getting into HD editing now…been a very good editor with Vegas with standard MiniDV captures, but now im doing AVCHD.

I can IMPORT from my camera fine (JVC GZ-HD10) but when I go to RENDER even a 10 second-20 second sequence, and output it to AVI, the playback in any media player program shows it as CHOPPY and AUDIO OFF SYNC. Every frame freezes and starts…chopy as heck.

Then I realized I can render to WMV, so I did that. The render came out fine, but even on the highest quality of WMV settings at 1440×1080 or whatever it is, the picture is slightly grainy and such. It doesn’t look like those HD downloads or sample videos you see online.

I’m entering a video contest for school, and they specify that HD is preffered, fine I go that nailed, but in terms of audio they said either MP3 compression or AAC.,….NEITHER of which are in WMV. MP3 compression is in AVI but I can’t render AVI properly (and the file said for 10 seconds was like 4 gb which is crazy).

    WHAT DO I DO!??!?!:(
