    HI all,

i have just converted a DVD file to avi uncompressed using tmpeg.

now i imported the avi file (about 40mins duration, 70 GB)to premier pro 1.5.

how do i get the avi file to playback smoothly in the preview monitor? it freezes every now and then.

is there particle codec that i show convert to work better with premier?

i need to do precise editing from the avi file.

    thanks.

Most hard drives cannot read uncompressed video fast enough to play smooth all the time.

coming from a DVD, standard DV-AVI should be fine. You can open the VOB file in Premiere Pro 2.0 and then export it as AVI.

You may need to change the .VOB to .mpg
