    Can anyone please advise

the brief i have received wants delivery as an avi.
Being mac based I assumed I would convert it from a .mov but the brief says

    Format
Animations created in AVI format, uncompressed. (most graphic designers use Adobe After Effect)
Files should not be converted to .AVI

which to me means I need to use a windows version of AE, not impossible , but a pain.

Now my question is would converting a mov to an avi make any difference anyway ??

    thanks

If you use uncompressed media then there should be no issue in converting from Quicktime to AVI. Just use uncompressed Quicktime and convert to AE’s Lossless AVI.

    my thoughts exactly ..

i wonder if they have had problems in the past and so specify that it must not be converted

They probably had a client convert compressed media and the color space was all off. Many don’t have the drive setup for dealing with uncompressed media even when just file writing on conversion
