January 27, 2019 at 10:28 pmI purchased 3 each F100Ghost Drones that came with a 4K camera. I can only play the footage using a VLC Media Player.
The Video Extension is .avi but Vegas Pro 15 will NOT access it! It just shows green on the timeline and will Not Play.

Hi James! Download the free MediaInfo utility and use it to interrogate your footage and bring the results back here. Doing this will indicate just what is inside your footage.
Also, instead of adding to this thread, please start a new one. You’ve got an interesting issue and I’m sure you’d get others who’d like to help you.

January 28, 2019 at 7:11 pmOk, Just wanted to let you all know I figured this out. Looking at the codec I realized that this was old motion jpeg codec somehow upgraded to do 4K. Weird but it’s actually MPEG2 and very similar to the old Matrox Board .avi formats. Having said that I fired up my old Windowx XP Pro Machine with Sorensen #9 on it and imported it and converted it to HD 1080p and Bingo I can now Edit this in Vegas Pro 15! Hope this helps some of you guys out!
