i’ve created some screen captures from a windows machine which are saved as avi files.
i’ve imported them into my fcp project timeline – they play and render fine.

    except….

now, without having changed any settings on either the capture software or my fcp project – the new avi files that i’m creating will play fine on my mac using th qt player, but when i drop’em into the fcp timeline, they will not play back correctly!

they even display correctly as filmstrips in the timeline, but no playback.

any ideas here? my searchs came up empty.

    TIA!

If you can play them in QT, then just export out of QT as NTSC DV/DVCPRO (or whatever codec you are using), then reimport them into your FCP project.
