    Hey there!

I’ve been uploading avi files onto my computer using my Olympus 790 SW camera however when I go to add the video to my project in Sony Vegas Pro 8.0 the preview screen is black, and when I drag it onto the project it appears red. The files appear as avi file in the explorer and I checked the format in properties. Why can’t I use these files??

    Cheers

    Seth

This could be a codec problem. You can check the codec of your files with the program GSPOT. Download GSPOT here:

Your camera records in Motion JPEG so make sure you’re using the latest build (8.0c) of Pro 8.
