AVCHD transcode yields more quicktime clips – why?
I am getting many more Quicktime clips (sometimes more than double) than are actually in Log and Transfer when I transcode to ProRes 422.
Could someone shed some light on this.

The drive you are transcoding to…how is it formatted? Fat32 has a 4GB file size limit, so will break up clips to accommodate.
Do they say -AV, -AV-1, -AV-2?
