AVCHD to SD DVD PAL + NTSC
Hello,
I am musician and started working with FC Studio 7 past month. I cut AVCHD footage in ProRes 422 HQ sequences (1920×1080, 25 fps, PAL not NTSC)
I would like to output them (80 minutes) as DVD SD in both PAL and NTSC as well.
I have already tried many settings this week, but the results do not look very good on a TV cathode monitor. There are horizontal lines in contours of moving objects. So I think I have an interlacing problem with my upper field dominance in my HD cut sequences and the lower fields for SD DVD.I tried the following workflows in several combinations:
1)
export of a self-contained QT movie, current settings
export of a QT movie, downscaled to 720, no compression
–> in Compressor: conversion with several presets for DVD Studio, or self-modified in regards to the field dominance.
–> importing those m2v-files into DVD Studio, (encoding preset for the field dominance left at “auto”)2)
something that was called Bonsai method
copying the HD clips/ sequence into a SD sequence (CCIR 601 5:4, anamorphotic, upper field, apple prores 422 HQ)
–> export of a self-contained QT movie, current settings
–> in Compressor: as discribed in 1)As I am getting more and more confused the more I try. What would be the best workflow and settings?
My second problem: What would be the best way to convert from PAL to NTSC ? My film is a live recording of a concert and has fast movements, so picture and sound should be 100% synchronized.
I would be grateful for some help.
Regards from Germany
