    i All,

I am considering purchasing the Panasonic AG-HSC1U.

    Question 1:

What specifically is the difference, other than the gamma curve and the cool battery powered hard drive storage unit, between the AG-HSC1U and the HDC-SD. I read in another thread about compression and it seemed that the AG-HSC1U might be using Pany’s pro codec: “AVC-I HD where in each frame is an independant “intra” frame. This is the format that aparently gives you DVCPRO 100 quality at 50mbs and even better quality at full 100mbs.” Is this true or do the cameras use the same compression scheme, based on the GOP frame structure?

Question 2: Is the AVCHD format 4:2:1, 4:2:0, or 4:2:2? I assume it is not the later, hopefully I am wrong.
