    Hi there,

I’m using an HMC40 to record some video in 1920x1080p30 then want to use the footage in both FCP and Adobe Premiere Pro.

The HMC records in AVCHD format (MTS) so i’ll have to convert some sort of HD 1920×1080 to edit it.

The Adobe program is on a PC desktop. The FCP is on a MAC laptop. (so the PC doesn’t have the Pro Res 422 installed)

Is there a format i can export to that will work smoothly in both programs, on both MAC and PC, without a load of intermediates.

Unfortunately, our team must use these two computers for our project.
We’ll be exporting into multiple formats.

no…that won’t work. i need an editable format, h264 is too compressed to work smoothly.

You can use ProRes on the PC if you are install the Codec (is available for PC now over 16 months or so only to decode), and you have an high version of Quicktime (think must be above 7.4 or 7.5)

    Cheers, Jeff
