AVCHD Camcorder recommendation
We are ramping up to produce flash videos using chroma key effects. To avoid the aliasing artifacts that are engendered by SD cameras, I’m preparing to have our company invest in an HD camera.
With the rapid evolution of formats such as AVCHD, I want to make sure that we invest in an “appropriate” camera–meaning, above all, that it’s compliant with Movie Studio Platinum. I know I’m opening up a large can o’ worms here, but could anyone suggest a good consumer-grade HD camera? I’m just starting to look at some of the newer models, such as the Canon HF10…but I’m still at a point with HD that I know only enough to be a danger to myself and others.
By the way, my editing platform is a dual core system (2.66ghz per core) with 3GB of RAM and a RAID0 array. I know that AVCHD is taxing to edit with, but I am attracted to the idea of data transfer via USB.
Anyway, any suggestions for a camera are welcome.
Thanks,
Carl
