AVCHD & Avid
I’m wondering how you import AVCHD clips to Avid in a way similar to using Log & Transfer on FCP? There has to be a simple way without running clips through any 3rd party software. I don’t care if it transcodes to another codec. I just want to get the footage in so I can edit and export a finished .mov.
Any suggestions?

You need to download and install the AVCHD AMA plugins:
https://www.avid.com/US/products/Avid-Media-Access/Plug-ins
Then you use AMA to access the media (point to the root level of the card or card backup)…that will populate a bin with the clips. Then you highlight those clips and go to CLIP>Transcode and transcode the footage to DNxHD.
