    Hi

What project settings should I use in premiere pro CS 5 if I have 1080 60p footage. From what I understand premiere pro can import these AVCHD files at 60p but I only see settings for 1080p 30p. The footage was shot using a panasonic tm-900 and from what I understand only shoots in 1080/60p/60i….Does premiere pro automatically make the footage 60i or possibly 30p or will it be true 1080 60p. If I shot in 1080 60i and used a 1080p 30p setting would that work better? Is 1080 30p the same as 1080 60i? Or is it just easier to use software to convert the AVCHD files to .mov. I really dont want to do that if possible. Extra step in the workflow.

I am running snow leopard on a 3.06 core duo macbook pro.

Use a setting that matches the footage.
Either drag the clip into the New Item icon or
    make a custum sequence setting.

hi Anne thanks for your help…so it wont be a problem because I have read that AVCHD in 1080/60p has a higher bit rate then say a standard AVCHD file and I have read that mac applications will not read it because it is not a standard format. ..has that changed in CS 5?
thanks for your help as I am kinda new to this.

We have a couple of TM700s and always shoot in 1080 60p. If you follow the earlier suggestion and let Premiere interpret footage, you will get a yellow bar and everything looks and plays fine. I am currently using CS5.
