AVC MP4 files captured from Blackberry Playbook won’t open in Vegas?
Hi guys,
I’m kind of new to all this and tried to find some info in google without success. I have a bunch of video files captured from a Blackberry playbook. I’m trying to add those files in Vegas Pro 11 for some editing but it seems Vegas is unable to preview the file – I can’t do anything with it in Vegas.
Media info gives me the following info for those files:

container: mp4Not sure exactly what is the problem, I’ve been able to edit AVC files in Vegas from other sources before, do you guys see anything in the above info that isn’t supported by Vegas Pro?

Odds are that Blackberry uses a customized version of the codec for their Playbook.
Can you post a small clip to a site such as Dropbox for us to experiment with?
Using https://db.tt/rYE74u2 will get both of us an extra 500 MB. over and above the free 2 GB. limit. -
Scouring the Cow for same answers but using FCPX.
Weird thing is that FCPX will show it in the Import window but will not let it ingest.
I had to run MPEG Streamclip and convert to QT h.264.
Files are huge but as soon as I get an optimized version in FCPX, Im toasting the originals. -
I ran into this issue with Vegas 11.
Solution? Downgraded back to Vegas 9.
The way Vegas 10 & 11 handle MP4’s are different then Vegas 9
I event tried different version of QuickTime to be sure.
The Playbook shoots great HD Video for a device that is so inexpensive.
