    Hi Shane…

Someone just FTP’d me a P2 folder structure of AVC Intra MXF.

    I’m on FCP Studio 2.

I can’t log and transfer to convert to Pro Rez.

And I can’t interpret the P2 outside of FCP to convert with compressor…..

    what am I missing?

    thanks…

    Alex

[Alex Udell] “what am I missing?”

An Intel Mac. You cannot convert this format with a PowerPC (G5). You need to convert it on another machine. You MIGHT see if MXF4MAC or Calibrated will allow you to import the files directly, but…no, that won’t work. Only FCP 7 allowed for timelines with the native AVCIntra codec.

No, you need an Intel Mac to do this.

OK, when you open FCP 6, and LOG AND TRANSFER…and look at the L&T prefs…do you see AVCI listed?
