    Hi,

i am looking for a way to easily adjust multiple language versions of one clip via an XML File or similar.
I have a finished version a clip with different textboxes, lines etc. (no standard subtitles, positition and size of text are changing, some lines are animated in…). Is there any way of replacing those textboxes with a script from an XML File.
So I can write my Text in the file and replace e.g. the german lines with english ones and re-import the file with an AE Script, replacing the old text.
I know I have seen something similar but at the moment I just can find scripts which generate textboxes from an XML file with timecode+text.

And is there a similar way to work with textlayers in Premiere?

Thanks for any hints in advance,

    Karim

You could do something like that (read an XML file and do text replacement) with a script. How it would work exactly would be dependent on the way you have your project set up, including comp and layer names, animated properties, etc., so I’m guessing you’d have to write it rather than find an existing one.

I don’t believe Premiere has scripting, but I haven’t used it lately.

Thanks for your answer… I was fearing it would include a lot of scripting which is not quite my cup of tea and would be too much hassle.

My basic problem is that corrections and different language version take to long for a project. Could there be a way of working with expressions to make life easier there?

I was thinking of setting up a dummy/guide composition with textlayers including all of my textscript.

Would there be a way of linking my animated textobjects source all over the project to the textfields in the single dummy composition so all text corrections could be done in this single composition instead of scrubbing through thousands of precomps and layers on the whole length of my clip for every language version??

Or to pose a basic questions… how do you handle complex projects which require a lot of text changes for different languages after the animation job is done in a manner that minimizes the time spent on replacing the texts??

I hope I was able to explain my problem. Thanks for any hints in advance,

    Karim
