I’ve had a project crash a few times on me recently and have noticed that my Auto-Save projects seem to be much further back than they should be, so I started watching the auto-save folder and have noticed that even though I have Auto-Save set to every 10 minutes and 20 versions, in my Auto-Save folder, on my currently incremented project it’s been an hour and there is only one Auto-Save version, mean I’d lose an hour if I went back to that version. I’m curious what could be going on with the Auto-Save that it doesn’t seem to be acting right.

    Any thoughts? Thanks.

    Hello Dustin,

What version of Premiere Pro do you have installed? There were a few changes that should help in build 8.0.1.

Autosave will not trigger exactly at the preference value, we look at a window of inactivity around the value to try not to be annoying. Example, if it is set to 5 minutes it will aim at firing between 4:30 and 5:30. Of course if you are doing something like playing during that time that will block it.

Keep in mind if you are not doing actions that dirty the project file, it will not autosave.

    Best,

I see, so the Auto-Save doesn’t work like After Effects, which will save every time increment no matter what you’re doing. So, If I’m in the middle of using the app it’s really only considering my saves?

I’m on version Premiere Pro cc 2014.0

I tried the 2014.0.1 update, but something got broken in the Multicam Preview Output with an External Monitor, so I had to roll back to this version.
