Auto-Orient Problem
I’m having a problem with Auto-Orient. I’m trying to grow an arrow on a grid. It’s a simple animation but, I’ve just spent hours trying to figure out why the arrowhead won’t sit on the head of the line as it grows.
I created the line in PSD, brought it in and used the Write-On effect to make it appear to grow. Then, I copied the keyframes used in the brush position and pasted them on the arrowhead’s position. Then, on the Arrowhead layer, I turned on Auto-Orient-Follow Along Motion Path.
I’ve read the forum, I’ve looked at other tutorials and it seems to work fine there but, it doesn’t look fine on my machine. The arrowhead and the line never match up. I don’t know if it’s because I have them as 3d Layers or what. But, even moving the roving keyframes individually doesn’t work. Because if I move one it throws another out of whack. Should I revert the roving to static keyframes?
This is a simple animation but, it’s making me pull out my hair in frustration. Am I missing a crucial step somewhere? How do I anchor the arrowhead on the head of the line and make it stay put?

Thanks for the suggestion. That fixed the problem of the arrowhead going everywhere but on the line.
