auto dial setting for Safari?
Posted by Rob Hindley on June 17, 2005 at 4:48 amI am on dial up. Is there a way of setting up Safari so it automatically dials up upon opening?

not sure if you’re on tiger or not (i think the wording changed for this option in tiger) – but in your network connection system preference panel, there is a ppp tab and then under that there is a “ppp options” button – in that resulting area, you’ll see the first choice which will be along the lines of “connect automatically when needed” – check that and it should work with safari…
if you do have tiger, make use of their rockin’ system preference search field in the upper right hand corner of the main system preference panel – search for “automatic” (sans quotes) and pick “ppp options” from the results…

June 18, 2005 at 12:59 amThanks Curtis. Yeah I’m on Panther still. Your suggestion works like a dream! I’m setting up a laptop for my wife so I reckon this is the easiest way for her to connect (she’s not a computer type)
