FCP does not save preferences to projects, which is a silly mistake on the part of programers, but that’s another conversation.
Meanwhile, get yourself Preference Manager from https://www.Digital Rebellion.com, a great free app, and create preferences for each of your different projects. It ends up doing exactly what you want, plus it does a whole lot more too, such as trashing prefs, saving prefs, and restoring prefs.
