Audition cs6 not scanning VST folder…

Thanks Joseph, but ive seen that article already. The problem
is that it is not scanning any folder whatsoever, it just sits
there at 0% and not moving.
I have no tolerance for faulty software, so this version just
gonna have to go and i go back to version 3.

Have you had Audition perform the scan? It appears that you need to tell Audition where to look with the Scan for Plugins feature under Effects/Audio Plugin Manager. You have to tell it where to look the first time around.

I just tested this out myself, by adding a free VST plugin (a .dll file) which I downloaded. Although Audition is installed on my D: drive, I had to put the .dll in C:Program Files (x86)VstPlugins. Without even restarting Audition, the plugin showed up in the Audio Plugin Manager, which is at the bottom of the Effects pulldown. When I clicked Add, it found the plugin, and immediately made it available to Audition, where it worked just fine.

I know some VST plugins aren’t compatible with Audition, but Audition will figure that out and put it in a folder for VSTs that don’t work.
