Audio/Video Settings for Canon XHA1 DV 16:9 24F
Ok, I’m trying to import video into FCP and obviously I’m having problems.
I want to import from a Canon XH A1 using firewire to a MacBook Pro with FCP 5.
I shot in DV16:9 in 24F.
I dont know what my A/V settings should be so the video comes in at 24 or 23.98 frames and I don’t need to interlace it.
I’ve always stuck to HDV whenever i did things because I never shot that much and had the space to store it. Now I’m working on a larger project and shot SD this time so I wouldn’t have to buy 20 hard drives….

Hi Casey,
I’m having the same issue and wondering if you figured out the settings. I shot on an xh a1, DV 16.9 24f and I can’t get it to import correctly. I get jagged lines and compromised quality. Can you suggest a workflow solution? I read that I might need to convert it in compressor? I’m so confused….Thanks!
