Audio/Video presets don’t match
After capturing video, I receive the following message;
The audio sample rate of one or more of your captured media files does not match the sample rate on your source tape. The may cause the video and audio of the media files to be out of sync. Make sure the audio sample rate on your capture preset matches the sample rate of your tape.
My XL1s VCR setup = Audio mode is 12 bit 1. Is this part of the issue? Could you please direct me to where I can correct this in my express presets?

Change the VCR audio mode to 16 bit.

Thanks, yes, it will for future projects. However, I’m stumped as to how to capture my current film as it was filmed in 12 bit.

Final Cut Pro>Audio/Video Settings…
Capture Tab
Scroll Down to your current setting, likely DV NTSC 48 Khz. If it is not, you should cancel and then use Final Cut Pro > Easy Setups… to set everything to DV NTSC 48 Khz.
Double click.
This will duplicate the current settings.
Rename this preset you are creatint DV NTSC 32 Khz.
Change the audio capture settings.
Hit OK.
Hit Command – 8 to open the Capture window.
Capture Settings tab.
Confirm that your new preset is selected.
Try capturing again.
A couple of important thoughts…
After you capture, confirm your audio is in sync. Do this on external audio and video monitors. Check both the begining and end of clips, and make adjustments before you start to edit. You do not want to discover this problem after you have begun your edit.
I would recommend that you convert your captured clips to 48 Khz before you start to edit. Here is a related thread…
