  • Audioclip wont play the last few seconds? Very weird problem!

Posted by Ed Boda on September 8, 2010 at 5:15 pm

    Hello,
so I add this mp3 to my project, everything’s fine, however Vegas just cuts the last 3-5 seconds of the song away. Now on the timeline I can see the volume level as it should be, however, if I zoom in, then suddenly the last 5 seconds of that volume level just disappear.
So what kind of problem could that be? I’ve tried everything, adding the mp3 again to the project won’t help.

    Help please! 🙁

    Thanks!

Is there a volume envelope (looks like a thin blue line) on the clip?
Try rendering it out in WAV format and see if that works.

Yes I’m using the envelope on this audio clip, but at the end it’s not changing, so that shouldn’t be the problem.
Rendering as .wav didn’t help either 🙁

    I just made two screenshots:

This is how it looks when not zoomed in too much:

That’s how it should look and play. Now if I zoom in, everything from 5:16 and beyond disappears and won’t play:

When playing back in either view, does the audio from the problem track cut out as suddenly as the second image you posted suggests?

Does windows media player play the mp3 correctly?

I would try re-ripping the audio from the original source if it ends abruptly in both instances. Perhaps something interrupted the ripping process.
