Audio Video sync 8 track limitation?
Software: Avid Media Composer version 3.13
Hardware: Avid Mojo SDIWe have a project where on set there are three digibeta cameras and two audio operators capturing data on to SD memory sticks.
The audio is also captured to tape (1-4 track)
What I want to be able to do is group a set of video clips with audio clips which both have the time of day time code.
For example:
CAM A: SCENEWORK 1 (V1 A1-4)
CAM B: SCENEWORK 1 (V1 A1-4)
CAM C: SCENEWORK 1 (V1 A1-4)AUDIO A: (A1-8)
AUDIO B: (A1-8)TIME OF DAY TIMECODE of all clips are running parallel to one another (the camera operators all button on/off at different times, same with the audio)
I want the group to contain 3 video tracks and 16 Audio tracks, but what I end up with is 3 video tracks and 8 Audio tracks
Is this a limitation of the software?
The other way around it is to lay everything onto a timeline and manually sync video/audio, but I’d prefer not to do this with the amount of footage I have to capture and sort for the editors.
TIA, much appreciated
