Audio Video out of sync
Hello everybody! Who can help me with the following problem:
Capturing analog video results in video and audio being out of sync.
I am using my AJA Io in order to capture analogue video (VHS, S-VHS, Betamax etc.). My players are all connected to an Extron Switcher and go from there into the AJA Io.
Capturing is done with a G5 (OSX 10.4.11) running Final Cut Pro 5.0.1 using an external firewire harddrive which is connected to a individual PCI-X slot, as not to disturb the AJA.I can caputre image and sound just fine, but they are out of sync. Most of the time the sound is ahead of the image (sometimes a couple of frames, sometimes almost a second).
At the moment I am not using a TBC as I thought the AJA Io could do that job. Am I wrong here? What do you think is the cause of my problem?

Curious how no one answered this. I may have a similar issue using HD/SDI in and audio coming from a separate mixing device into the XLR audio connectors.
