    Hi there,

I’m using PPro on an Matrox Axio system. The audio and video in my captured clips are not synced, although the TC is the same. There is a 4 frame audio delay. So far, I’ve only noticed it on talking head shots. I’m capturing analog footage off of a Beta SP deck. The audio is going through a mixer…could that be the problem? Also, I’m just now defraging for the first time. I haven’t had a chance to see if that fixed it. Also, I thought I would hook a DV cam in and see if the problem was there. That would bypass the mixer. Have you ever heard of this happening? Also, I have 600 GB left on my HD.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Hi Mary

4 frames are way too much for even the worst of mixers to delay. Not the problem. Defrag either. Does it play that way in the source window as well? If so there is something else going wrong in signal routing or Axio config. Or possibly could it be with the original tapes? Look close at Raw Beta playback of same material.

    Hi Gene,

    Small world…hope all is well.

Thanks for the info. I’m confident it is not the tapes…but that’s about where my confidence ends. I see the delay in the source monitor only when the footage is looping through capture window. It’s hard to tell if there is a delay in the actual capture window because of its small size. I’m working with the Matrox dealer now where I bought the system. So far no luck in narrowing it down. Any other ideas? I’ll keep you posted.

    Mary
