audio video has dropped out of sync
Hi Guys,
Very new to all this – only started using last Friday, spent weekend making movie of spliced interviews with music in background. All going fine but suddenly the audio has dropped out of sync with the video – the sound is slightly ahead of the video.
I am not sure if it is a constant time difference or if it varies over the time.
Also, when this occurs seems to change too… sometimes it seems to be working fine when I am watching in premiere but then it “skips” and drops out again.
Wouldn’t be a problem but it has started happening to my exported files from this project.
Any ideas?

Ideally, you want the same audio sample rates… your source material should match that of your project. So, it may help to resample the audio files with an audio app. If the audio files are MP3s, they should be decompressed as WAV or AIFF.
The project is likely 48kHz (48000Hz) 16-bit Stereo. So, this should also be the format of the audio files.
Check Project/Project Settings/General: Audio Sample Rate.What is the format of the audio files?
What is the format of the video files?
Are your hard drives internal or external?
Are you modifying the audio, once in Premiere – stretching, etc.?If you have multiple drives, be sure to set Edit/Preferences/Scratch Discs to utilize these drives.
If you get a chance, fill out your profile with your hardware specs, OS, and App versions. It could be a horsepower issue?
