Click the clip in the browser, not the timeline.

What version of FCP do you have?

Yes the browser/clip bin. There is no “clip settings” when I right click.

    I am using FCP 4.5.

    thanks

i can’t wait to get this fixed.

    cheers

Ah! That’s the problem then. That option isn’t available in FCP 4.5. In FCP 4.5 you should be able to click the tracks column in the browser and change it from 1V, 1A to 1V, 2A. If it isn’t working with a clip that’s online, try it one that’s offline. If that works, then take your clips offline and do the rest.

    UH OH!

I selected the “tracks” collum in the browser and changed it from
    1v,1a to 1v 2a.

And then I recaptured 5 tapes. Everything was fine. Only 20 tapes to go….

Then the program crashed and when I re-booted it would no longer allow me to change the “tracks” collum in the browser… I was sooo close!! It simply says “no short cuts” .. yikes

    any thoughts!!

    thanks

WEll, i would trash your preferences first, which is good to do after FCP crashes, especially in v4.5. If that doesn’t work, then I would do the second method I described. That is, select your clips in the browser (try a few at a time for now) and then bring up the log & capture window. Make sure in the log and capture window you have video and audio selected correctly in the clip settings tab. Click on the batch button to capture the selected clips. Make sure that Use Logged Clip Settings is UNCHECKED. This will overwrite what is in the browser and digitize using the current settings from the clip settings tab.

    Make sense?
