  Audio trouble with .avi files in FCP

  i have taken some .mpeg4 videos with a digital camera. Now usually i run them through ffmpeg and convert them to .avi files or ffmpeg (whatever that is. either way they normally work just fine. Hoever now it just plays the first 10 seconds of audio for ech video. The waveform shows constant audo throughout the clip but when played back in FCP it cuts out after 10 seconds. Played in my quictime player it is fine though. Any thoughts? any help is very appreciated.
