Hey all, sorry if this is a repost, I searched but didnt find anything that answered my question, which is…

What audio formats are accepted by After Effects? Ive received errors messages on file format with some audio files and Im not sure which I can use. Secondly, Ive had success with .wav files…I believe…but I dont hear any audio when I play it in AE and the audio meter remains inactive. Am I not using this correctly or trying to do the wrong thing with it?

Kinda sucks having to render in AE then use another program just to add audio clips…rendering a render thats been rendered doesnt always turn out the best, hah.

Did you check the Help for supported import formats?

Next, if it says that MP3 files are supported, import those at your own risk. Convert them to AIFF or WAV in Quicktime Player first.

To play audio, use RAM preview or the period key on the numerical keypad. Check the Help, then check it again if you have no audio.

Don’t hit the spacebar for previews.

[Steve Roberts] “Don’t hit the spacebar for previews.”

    [Steve Roberts] “use RAM preview”

Thanks, I knew it was something simple like that. Noob here, but Im getting used to it. I did check the help but I couldnt find anything on it. Thanks again!
