audio tricks for off mike material?
I’m working in Final Cut Pro studio do I do have access to Soundtracker. My project was shot with only a boom mike in a few scenes. A few of the actors in these scenes sound badly offmike. I’ve duplicated the tracks and cranked them pretty high (I’m concerned about how this will sound in a room but I’ll worry about that later) I’m not an audio whiz and hoped somebody here would know how to bring up the volume on off mike material. We can’t reshoot and I think ADR won’t work except in emergency instances.
ANY ideas would be helpful. Thanks

That’s why we have ADR.
Non-linear: all the time and nothing but.

Well, yes, but ADR is not an option for a number of reasons. I’m looking for information about how to make the audio I have sound better. If anyone here knows of anything, I’d appreciate the info. If not, leave the question be, no problem.

Hi,
Put the poor audio through a graphic equalizer and boost the presence frequency at about 5.6 KHz. This should boost the consonants of the dialogue and make the actors sound more intelligible.
