Audio Through Computer Speakers During Capture
Hi,
This is a pretty basic question, but the answer doesn’t seem to be in the manual. I’m trying to hear the audio through my computer speakers while logging. I don’t have the resources for a nicer deck or camera, and I don’t have an external monitor. I know this is not the preferred configuration, but I don’t have a choice right now.
So, I’m capturing with a video camera with a painfully quiet speaker. I’d really like to be able to review my footage through my computer comfortably – looking at the video through the log and capture window and hearing the audio through my computer speakers. Is this possible?
I will add that when playing back already captured video, everything is good. I listen to the audio through my computer speakers. It is only during logging, when the footage is still on a tape, that I’m worried about.

You’re best off monitoring the camera or deck. Plug in headphones if you have to.
You can make the audio come through the speakers by changing the capture preset. Go into the advanced audio section of the capture preset and you’ll find it in there. It is not recommended as it can cause audio sync drift.
