I’m having a terrible time with my audio inside AE. When i have a waveform open and I click (.) to audio preview the beats match up perfect with the waveform, However, when I ram preview, the timeline marker is slow and it doesn’t match to the beat. But when I render out it matches up. If I made this clear. It makes it nearly impossible to add markers and edit to the beat becuase the ram preview is innacurate.

Could anyone make some sense of this. I hope I made myself clear its kind of hard to explain and its not because its and MP3 file. I’ve tried all kinds. It also happens in 6.5 and 7.0 in Windows on PC. Any help would be appreciated!!!

    Thanks
    Tyler

If I had to guess… ITs because of the file type, AE only likes WAV’s and doesn’t even really like them very much. But convert to wav then try.

Well, I ‘ll give this much to you, AE does have some issues in the audio department, but that shouldn’t be one of them.

What I am guessing is happening is that your audio is playing in realtime, but not the video.

I would try this reducing the quality and size until you can confirm that the video is playing in realtime.

I’ve noticed the same problem with the audio–trying to sync it up with video, it times out differently, depending on if I RAM preview or scrub it. Seems pretty random, but I changed the Comp window resolution to Full, and that seemed to fix it.
