Hi, a workflow question regarding audio sync.

On this shoot, a lot of the time there were two mics: one to the camera, one to a separate recorder.

It is more advisable to sync all mics, then edit?
Or edit first, then sync the 2nd audio source afterwards?

I would sync the mic first, that way it will all be there when you start moving bits around and cutting bits off- just make sure every time you cut a clip and move it you keep the off camera audio in sync!

A better alternative if your budget permits would perhaps be pluraleyes: https://www.singularsoftware.com/pluraleyes.html

Great bit of software syncs audio for you- great if you have lots of clips!

Hope that all helps a little 🙂
