I’m having a problem with a few of my video files. In the VLC media player they play fine and the audio is in sync. However, when I import them to Premiere, they sound like they are fast forwarding. The problem is even in the timeline and I think it is shown in the waveform too.

I’m thinking it may be my 6 speed card that I shot this with. For now i’ll edit it by looking at the source in VLC, but it seems really a shame that it’s only premier that’s not playing the audio right.

When a clip plays in say VLC it does not automatically mean that it will play correct in Premiere.
Premiere is an editor, VLC is just a player.
Make sure the video file has a codec that Premiere understands well.

I had the same problem with DSLR Footage.

    The problem was solved.

    1. Remember the clip numbers that have this problem.
    2. Go to Edit/Preferences/Media in your Premiere and click Clean Cache
    3. Quit out of premiere.
    3. Go to Media Cache Files folder (by default on PC this folder is located C/Users/-your user-/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Common/Media Cache Files)
    4. Delete all the files that have corrupted files name in it. It should be 2 cache files for each video file *.pek and *.cfa (might be more)
    5. Open premiere and import one by one each corrupted file, giving some time after import for the file to be confirmed.

Thank you so much! Clearing the cache and deleting media files fixed the problem.
