So I had to move my project from one station to another which means I had to move both my files to another drive and my project to another computer. When I attempted to open up the project I noticed there were discrepancies in some of the audio files I was relinking to. The File Attributes mismatch claimed the files “Media Star and End” did not match. I allowed it to proceed and found the file offsync. I also noticed the files contained a green render bar with them which usually represents a sampling issue. So I checked the specs on the file and went back to my the previous computer to check the link and reopen the project. Everything worked fine. What seems to be causing this mismatch?

Most of my work involves projects being moved from edit to online for me to grade etc. I have not had this problem when simply moving the project via the original external drives. If you need to move to an alternative external drive, I recommend using Media Manager to make a copy of the project to the new drive.

This avoids having to relink offline files. I have seen that error message when people just copy folders over. Not sure why but relinking is such an unnecessary pain and too often files are missed – usually a bit of music or a graphic that was saved to the desktop.
