I am having a problem rendering multichannel audio utilizing Vegas Pro 9.

I am using 4 mono busses edited within a XDCAM EX (MP4) video.

Each speaker works as selected during preview after editing.

The problem occurs after rendering. The video is great, but the audio plays back on all five surround speakers in all 4 busses. The speaker selection does not follow through to rendering.

This is probably a simple fix, but for the life of me, I can’t figure this out.

    Thanks in advance.

What was the audio format/setting you selected when rendering?

    Steve,

The rendering settings were as follows:

    Multichannel mapping is enabled
Template: HQ 1280×720-60p. 35 Mbps VBR
Description: Audio 48,000 Hz 16 Bit (MAC), Mono, PCM
    Channel Mapping: Mono downmix (Bus A, B, C, D)
    Number of Channels: 4
    Include Audio Box Checked

For DVD videos, the audio must be .AC3 format in order for the surround sound to work. You can also render to .WMV, click custom and drop down template and choose a 5.1 surround that matches your resolution.

I’ve found the audio seperation isn’t as good as .ac3 but it’s a way to get surround sound without burning a DVD..

    Hope this helps, Danny Hays

As i figured…Your audio has to be rendered
as 5.1 surround sound (Dolby Digital ac3 format) for you
to get the results you are looking for after rendering.

Thanks for your help thus far.

My problem is that I must render in XDCAM EX (MP4) using an HQ 1280×720-60P. 35 Mbps VBR Template for specialized video playback.

Is there any way to render the video with AC3 surround sound with this criteria?
