Audio rate question
I just did an interview using the Zoom H4n. I had lent it to a friend the other day and he must have changed the settings (which I did not check) and it recorded at 44,1 K. I would have set it at 48 K. I shot on a canon HV20 and T2i at 24p and the sound it the cameras were recorded at 48K. Although I do not plan on staying on the subject for long periods of time I am now concerned about sync issues.
I use pluraleyes for sync and I am afraid with the 48K audio recorded it the cameras and the 44.1 K external audio I am going to have sync issues.

Just convert the 44.1 audio to PCM 16 or 24 bit 48kHz with an app other than FCP (Soundtrack Pro, QT Pro, MPEG Streamclip, etc.). Then you should be good to go.

I’m just wondering since the Zoom H4N audio and the T2i are 44.1 perhaps I should convert the HV20 48 K to 44.1 I will be using Pluraleyes to sync and since the it uses the audio in camera to sync I am afraid with external sound at 44.1 and in camera at 48 it will have trouble syncing

They should all be 48k. If any exports are meant to be used in another NLE your audio will be non-standard at 44.1. That said, I agree all the audio should be consistent or PluralEyes won’t be happy. If you make all of the clips 44.1 you can set FCP to accept that sample rate without having to constantly render. In the future make sure your cameras and Zoom are recording 16 or 24 bit 48kHz PCM.
