Audio problems during HD playback
In FCP7, I have a project I’m working on in HD. I’m trying to dub out but am getting distortion and sluggish audio during playback in HD. These clips sound fine when they’re coming through my computer speakers, but not my HD monitor. This is only affecting HD clips… all of my SD stuff is working just fine. All of my video is in the same format (48 KHz) so it’s not a mixed sample rate issue. Any help would be appreciated.

What video and audio codecs are you using? If the audio is not uncompressed 16/ 24 bit PCM, FCp will not be happy. Any mp3s in the timeline?
Also if you have lots of tracks (video and audio) you might want to do a mix down. When FCp is struggling to cope, it can either drop frames or lag on audio. I presume all is rendered and coming off a drive fast enough to cope (and not the system drive).
