I recently reinstalled Adobe Premiere Pro on my system. When I tried to edit a project, I couldn’t hear audio in the timeline or program monitor. The audio meters were showing audio and the only way I could hear anything, was to unlink the audio from video and load only the audio into the preview monitor. As a work around, I was able to tap audio out of my Canopus breakout box into seperate speakers. When I import the files into Adobe Encore, no audio problems at all. Any suggestions?

Often asked question. In the wing menu for the Program window is Playback Settings…choose Desktop Audio

Unfortunately, when I open playback settings, there is no control over audio. The default editing mode, canopus RealTime DV, is greyed out, and playback settings only displays video setups.

What happens if you start a new project – using only Adobe Preset, and import the Canopus project into it?
You’ll lose any Canopus RT effects, but the audio should come in.
Let us know how that works out.
