audio problem with avi h264 file

I have to add that i dont have this problem on my laptop running Cs3 version of premiere…

Hey Gabriel how you doin? i got the same camera as you do the benq dv m21 but i am working on premiere cs5 and i am trying to import my video files to edit on premiere but unfortunaly i can’t because when i do that it imports like if the .avi video files were just sound files and there’s no video. actually i selected on the projects HDV 1080p 30fps
but it imports just like audio there’s no image, on the properties of the file it said
Type: AVI Movie
File Size: 13.1 MB
Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz – 16 bit – Stereo
Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz – 32 bit floating point – Stereo
Total Duration: 00:00:16:44318
Average Data Rate: 792 KB / second

So how can i make this work i need to edit those videos on premiere cs5 and no image is there 🙁

Hey there, at some point i had the same problem as you, my solution is not really a very smart one but its the only one i could find, unfortunately i downgraded to CS3 and everything works fine after you update it and install Mainconcept mpg pro HD, maybe you can try installing this last plugin and see what happens, as a said, I know downgrading the soft is a stupid way to solve the problem but film and editing is what i do for a living and I really cant stop working for a week until i find a real solution. I also use a Sony FX1 and i had some trouble with renders such as black frames or frames coming out of place for a second in CS4, none of this seems to happen in CS3, so i dont really know what is causing the problem, all i can do is guess. I hope this helps with your problem.

hi man i just found a solution with this video format to work on premiere, just wanted to share with you

Conversion process for BENQ DV M21 in Premiere

1. From the camera format .avi get Xilisoft HD video converter (get it for free in taringa.net)
2. Convert the file to .asf file
3. import into Premiere
3. When rendering in Premiere do with Mpeg 4 Video for flash PLayer
4. Upload to youtube

the computer specs that i am woking on

Windows 7 professional 64 bits
Intel® Core™ i7 processors
8 GB of RAM
1 tera RAID drive (2 hard drives 7200 rpm)
Nvidia Geforce 285 GTX

i tried Premiere CS3 and CS5 none work. /CS3 doesn’t support 1920x1080p resolution!

i found some solutions to work with H.264 file on some forums

i tried the solutions to work with cineform and convert the files but it didn’t work because it said is not a compatible file, converting to DV AVI format is still being slow for playback.

The software that came with the camera TOTALMEDIA EXTREME2 has an editor on it and the it has real playback on real time but the editor is so basic and i need to make a music video and professional edits and effects, how can i see real playback on premiere with this files
