  • Audio Plays in Motion, doesn’t show up in QT movies

I have this project I’m finishing up and wouldn’t you know it that I would get a problem right on the night of the deadline. ;(

I have VO, music, and sound FX in Motion. All play fine in Motion. All of played fine in QT movies up until recently. I don’t know what happened, but now the VO and music play, but the sound FX don’t. They are wooshing sounds. Again, in Motion, they play fine. Everything plays in real time (for the most part) in Motion, but when I export it as a QT movie, the sound FX are gone.

If I create a new movie and put the same sound file out there and export, it plays.

If I move the sound FX in the timeline to somewhere else, it still doesn’t play.

The sound FX are on in the Audio tab with the volume up.

    This has me stumped.

As a last resort, I’ll mix it all together, but I prefer it separate in Motion because my client keeps making changes and I have to change the timing of things and having the sound in Motion is very convenient.

Any tips or guesses are welcome.

    Thanks!

It’s this darn Audio MIDI Setup application bug again. Motion changed it, again, to 48Khz output and my project file get screwed up and that audio wouldn’t play. I’ve posted about this before and I must be really tired to not have remembered this bug.

I haven’t figured out what causes the change, but it’s annoying. There’s an Apple tech note about the solution for this bug.
