Hello Steve and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum.

    ProTools LE, among others, does.

    Thanks for the welcome Ty,
I am part of the family…but first time in this audio
    section.
Apart from pro-tools (which i don’t use), any other off the
tip of your head you could suggest.

    Steve,

OK. Audio over firewire is possible by a lot of apps, if you’re thinking about a piece of software and a hardware audio interface. I only have direct experience with ProToolsLE.

Perhaps someone else can toss in here or resort to some googling.

    Regards,

    Ty

I would recommend the M-Audio family of Firewire audio interfaces. I have the M-Audio Firewire Solo. It was inexpensive and sounds decent. I use it with Soundtrack Pro, Peak and a few other programs and it works well. Simple two channel I/O with decent mic pre-amps.
