  • Audio-only ripple edit in 10.3?

Posted by Anton Antokhin on December 8, 2016 at 8:10 am

I select a range on an video clip, hit delete, and ripple cuts it.
I do the same on the audio-only clip and it disables the portion that was selected.

Is there a way to ripple-delete audio-only using the range tool? What I am trying to do is to cut out a section in the middle of the music and have the remainder collapse together.

I know I can use the blade to make two edits, but hoping there’s a better (faster) way.

    Thanks!

Yes there is. I don’t know why this changed in 10.3, but it did.

You have to map a kb shortcut to ‘Delete Selection Only’:

Then select a range, hit this new kb shortcut, and it works like the old delete.
